Pawsitivity comes in many forms – but the ones with paws are the best. Doggos give us a lot. In a world riddled with constant noise, stimulation, distraction, tragic world news we can do nothing about then it can be hard to practice a pawsitive mood. There are certain things that can really change our brain chemistry around our mood. It can come so quietly and subconsciously, but it really matters. Self-affirmation theory states that, "if individuals reflect on values that are personally relevant to them, they are less likely to experience distress and react defensively when confronted with information that contradicts or threatens their sense of self." Basically, if you build up your self-confidence in such a way, then it's harder to break it, break you down, or crumble under pressure. It can help cope with criticism, stress, or low self-esteem. It can help with improving academic performance, health, and defensiveness.
